Over the last year the Core Team have been working hard on Search Kit - a new way of searching and reporting on data in CiviCRM.
Although still in beta, Search Kit is already a very powerful tool. It’s also fast, which makes it particularly pleasing to use. It’s a quietly revolutionary feature.
Recently, CiviCRM user 9to5 decided they wanted to take advantage of some of the features that Action Network provides, including tools that make it easy for constituents in the USA to contact their elected representatives.

The CiviCRM Community Council have been working on a set of guidelines for the CiviCRM Community Blog.
Many people in our community expressed a desire for some guidelines to inform posting and conversation, and now that we have a draft together, we would like to collect feedback from the community on what we're proposing.
In the upcoming 5.43 release significant changes have been made to the code that handles token rendering. The primary goal was to fix technical debt issues that were tying us in knots and holding us back. However some new usability features are also included in 5.43
Accessibility is an important concept that is becoming increasingly incorporated into the zeitgeist. In the spirit of this important movement, we invited web accessibility specialist, author and UN special advisor, David Berman on our podcast to share ideas with associations about accessibility for their websites and member portals.
We, the Community Council, owe all of you an apology. As you might remember the CiviCRM Community Council was elected in April 2020. Some of our members were elected for 2 years and some of us for 1 year. So we should have had an election last April for those members that either stepped down (1) or are at the end of their term.

Users of the CiviCRM Extended Security Releases (ESR) do not need to upgrade, as there are no ESR-specific bug-fixes or security issues at the moment. The current version of ESR is CiviCRM 5.39.x.
