I want to talk about sustainability. Not because it’s an easy or fun thing to talk about. I mean, we’re talking money, which can be pretty off-putting to some. But, it is an important topic.
We often underestimate the power of community in any open-source project.
A strong, engaged community is essential for the growth and evolution of software. Here's another excellent example of why we should all be proud of the CiviCRM ecosystem.
The CiviMobile team has officially announced the new release of CiviCRM Standalone, available in the app without any CMS attachments. Since June 16, 2025, customers can leverage the full functionality of CiviMobile that doesn’t rely on Joomla, WordPress, or Drupal CMSs.
CiviCRM is a great fit for mission-driven organizations because it delivers what proprietary platforms typically can’t: true ownership of your data and the ability to meet unique business requirements. But, as we know from experience, the more complex the system, the more complex the upgrade process can be. “Complex” isn’t bad, but it should be planned for when looking ahead at projected costs for maintaining system security and functionality.
